                                      Artist Statement

                                     My creativity is expressed in a linear abstract manner depicting a both organization
                                     and texture in the art work. Oil on canvas is my favorite medium with my Irish roots
                                     drawing  me to create art works which depict the sea,  nature, and wide vista's.
                                     Some of my work reflects an image of sailing or movement upon rough waters.
                                     No safe harbors but the wide open sea with a hint of danger. The work itself begins
                                     with numerous layers of paint, each with its own color, so that when the textures are
                                     created, various impressions of the underlying layers are revealed.
